Staten Island, NY – November 25, 2014 – Digital Edge and Diana’s Murals and More kicked off the season by showing support through enhancing experiences for children at one of Staten Island’s public schools.

PS 5, The Huguenot School, is a special place for many families in South Staten Island. It has just over two hundred students, and the staff provides personal attention to each. The administrators and teachers know each child and parent by name. It is a small school that frequently relies on grants to bring art and educational programs to its students. Over the past three years Diana’s Murals and More has collaborated with the students on two projects that were made possible by grant funding. The students were involved in creating murals for the school based on their favorite books and places. Because funds are not readily available for projects like these, a local company recently provided needed funding for one more educational project that has come to life this holiday season. Digital Edge, a technology company and data center services provider, has stepped up to make one more creative project possible, as the company believes that art is an important part of education and the engagement of children in school activities. For this project the student council chose “Lessons learned in Greek Mythology” theme, and Diana Sorkin of Diana’s Murals and More painted the mural panels for the school’s annex so that the kids would be encouraged to learn the stories behind her creations.

“What makes me most proud to be a part of this project is the fact that it benefits a wonderful cause, the enrichment of education for children, and provides them with inspiration to continue to study and explore,” stated Diana Sorkin.
